Conversing with Esha Pujari , Miss Neela affirmed that she has been working towards the betterment of her Ward right from day one of the lockdow, be it sanitizing the society or providing essentials and food to the poor and needy .

Apart from above, she is also concerned on her 50% attention on the monsoon. This is her routine work to take care of the proper functioning of drainage and potholes

This lockdown is a challenge for Neela and she isn’t aware for how long will it persist. Nevertheless, even if people intent to help and contribute they are most welcome which may be for a certain limit as providing everyone for such a long period is no easy. But they tried their level best. She also said when a person is detected positive in a particular society they have problems and complaints against each other and the person who is detected positive also faces moral humiliation. Then all that they need is to go in for counselling.There is mental disturbance in the family.

When quizzed about unlocking the lockdown, Neela says ” it is definitely wrong time. Earlier, we were not prepared for the government or the other facilities but still now we are aware about the precautions and causes. Yet it is a wrong time to unlock the lockdown as there are chances of steep rise in cases.

Meanwhile on migrant workers crisis, she said, “we have failed to help them in the earlier stages, however, now everyone is trying to contribute. However, there are some sad stories that drives our attention on those people who have lost lives by walking in empty stomach and starving and eventually fighting for their survival.

Miss Neela’s message to the people is “we need to take care of ourselves, take precautions as we need to live with the virus and learn to survive.
