Mumbai: Mira- Bhayandar Corporator, Sanjay Therade says
“Coronavirus Pandemic has led us to a different lifestyle to adopt for the betterment of ourselves”.
Mumbai: Notwithstanding the valiant efforts of the Maharashtra government and the BMC, this lockdown has proved what a colossal failure Mumbai is as a Metropolis.
An economic system which concentrates power and decision-making in the hands of a few; and second, at the centre of that decision-making, leaders with the vision, sensibility and political will to deploy those resources intelligently.
Hello Mumbai News Team ropes in Mira-Bhayandar Corporator Sanjay Therade for an interaction over the phone for his concrete views.
Sanjay says that the Coronavirus Pandemic has led us to a different lifestyle which we have to adopt for the betterment of ourselves.
The country is struggling to combat the deadly virus.
Even as we are recording more than 9000 cases per day, Maharashtra has recorded more than 85000 cases surpassing even China’s Wuhan.
While we are dealing with the infections which is increasing day-by-day, we just cannot risk to be lenient in this situation which will eventually put our lives at stake.
As the nation is heading towards unlocking the lockdown, we are now supposed to take more precautions unlike in lockdown as we will now be coming in contact with many people with whom we aren’t acquainted with and who may probably be carrying the infection as half of the cases in the country are asymptomatic.
Adding more he said that the Pandemic has led us to a whole different lifestyle. This is going to be with us for many more coming years. As a result, not only coronavirus but many more infections could be put off on side.
Talking on his work-front, he said sanitisation was the aspect. He sanitised more than 150 buildings in his ward. Moreover he said he has distributed dry ration to more than 250 families who couldn’t afford basic food.
Dealing with the coronavirus infection in his ward, he reiterated that he has also been focusing on other important things such as cleaning up of the drainage, repairing of the roads as the monsoon is just in the corner.
Furthermore he also suggested that as the death rate from coronavirus is comparitively lower from other infections, we shouldn’t fear it as it will only result in panic attacks, stress and anxiety. If we have the will power we will be able to defeat it.
