Mumbai: Sneha Shailesh Pandey, Shiv Sena Corporator, Ward 38  amid Covid-19 induced lockdown steps in to help the poor and needy

Talking to Hello Mumbaí News Team over the phone, she said that right from the day one of the announcement of nationwide lockdown to battle coronavirus pandemic, she has been distributing food package to needy people in her ward area and also necessities in daily life which people need. They distributed free homeopathic medicines of Arsenicum album 13 .

She further said that as a Corporator since 2007.
She has been connecting with people and trying to co-operate with them in her ward mostly those who faced problem. Slum area people, most of them being migrant workers, laborers have faced problem. But today 80% of migrant workers have been sent to their home. For the last two months every week, she had sanitized the buildings in her area. She did some camps like blood donation camp and medical camp with the help of other Shiv Sena Members. She took initiative for cleaning drains and repairing roads in their area.

“The messege sha wants  to give stay home Be safe.. don’ t go outside without any major necessity, suggests to take precautions and do social distancing.

The message she wants to deliver to the government’ is that three months have passed and middle class South people are facing problem as they don’t have any source of income.They have appealed to government that people should not pay electricity bill for 6 months , ration should be distributed in every area for free , and school fees for this term should be waived. She is handling her ward area with full responsibility.

According to her, state government is also working properly as they are providing food items like 5 kg rice, 5kg wheat , pulses etc in every area since the lockdown had been started.

Her ward comprises 80% migrant workers who have been sent home by them. They also provided daily food to the workers . Her ward commissioner Mr. Chandra Kant Dange has also done a great job by helping needy people .

Meanwhile most people in her ward are being affected by coronavirus. Some of them work as cleaners, while some are working in Mira Bhayander Corporation In her ward 15 people have been tested Covid-19 positive .
