Mumbai: Coronavirus is a novel virus, and the infection has since spread widely to many countries around the world and become a pandemic.

Battling with Covid pandemic is as big as World War III. Economy has dwindled and global health crisis is killing people, spreading human suffering, and upending people’s lives.

Indubitably, this pandemic has placed each single person on the globe in trouble. We can’t single out poor or low wage people impacted by this Virus or rather the middle class who can’t express their actual scenario. The outside world is in great trauma to care and feed their family.

No doubt, the poor families are in the glare of the government and are getting support from the government, several NGOs and foundations.

However, there is a pathetic story on the migrants too. Depressed and totally worn out of hunger and money, they started to trek to their native by foot little caring for food, water, heat or any other problems on their arduous journey to 5their native place. Its all because of being trapped into some dreadful nightmares.

Speaking to Ayushi Kedia of Hello Mumbai News, Reeta Shah, said the situation was horrendous for the migrant laborers as they were daily wage workers and also maintaining social distancing in slums was scary for them.

Unimaginably, in a 10×10 house, live a family of 6-7 members locked continuously.
A sort of feeling kept hammering them whether their death will be due to coronavirus or due to hunger. They took to auto-rickshaw, or hiding inside transport vehicles or making it by foot under extremely painful situation.

Reeta also made it known that for the last 73 days she has been continuously sanitizing every building as well as cars for which she purchased 4 sanitizing machines and distributed masks and sanitizers. She has also been creating awareness amongst people.

To send all the workers to their native villages she hired two computer people and did the set up in her school with printers to make things easy.

Also, Mira- Bhayandar was completely sealed. So before going outside, they were required to get a pass from her, and also in case someone had to go to Mumbai’s main area, they were given an e-pass.
Further, she said, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the strongest pillar despite being the second largest populated country in the world. Imposition of lockdown was a commendable decision along with strict policy that helped the country to be in a bit of stable position.
As the government is doing every possible thing from the last 73 days, now it’s time for the people to show their awareness to fight with the virus and break the chain because unlock of the country doesn’t mean total. Even if a lockdown is lifted, the coronavirus will still exist.

In the end, Reeta wants to tell every citizen to think about their family before venturing out only for urgent or job-related work, as obviously, family members wait for them to return home.
