According to Akhtar, in this ongoing Ramzaan, it was a pitiable plight for him to see people starving even after breaking the fast. They were penniless and had nothing to eat. Hence, first he ensured to send as much help as possible to the poor and needy. Thereafter, he starts his iftaar comprising more of fruits as he believes eating healthy food is very essential and he continuous with dinner at night . He adds that only the rich can enjoy a lavish iftaar but for the poor they fast even after Iftaar. Akhtar deems it as his mission to first serve everyone out there and then take care of himself.

3. Shayra Shafad Khan, Samajwadi Party, Corporator, Govandi Ward No. 134.
Amidst the lockdown, Hello Mumbai News reporter Syed Nazia caught up with Shayra for an interaction on her views and experience on the ongoing Ramzaan. She stated how Ramzaan is being observed in her area notwithstanding the grim situation around amid lockdown. She is saddened that this year they have to celebrate Ramzaan and Eid in such an atmosphere. Nevertheless, she believes that the true spirit of Ramzaan lies in praying, but feels sorry that many people are suffering. But she reminds us to be grateful to the creator and help the poor and needy. Her iftaar generally includes sharbat, fruits, daal chaawal, kanda tikki, aaalu tikki, sabzi ,roti and etc. Before starting her iftaar she first distributes it to the ones who can’t afford it on their own.

Ramzaan may be confined to the four walls in a house this year..But we must always remember the true spirit of Ramzaan.

We wait patiently for maghreeb when we are fasting is the same way this year as we need to wait wait for better days. We must pray inside our houses for the Covid warriors fighting for us outside their houses by protecting and looking after us .
