Mumbai: .Mumbai Nagpada, Congress Corporator, Javed Juneja, Ward No. 213, shares his experience amid Covid-19 induced lockdown with Hello Mumbai News reporter, Jui Jadhav

Mumbai: Amid the Covid-19 induced lockdown, it was not being followed by people. People in large numbers were witnessed in Nagpada area.

Speaking to Jui, he said that when a lockdown is imposed, it needs to be followed seriously. But sadly e everything was functioning.

This reflects in our country. The Government of other countries will definitely question why lockdown is not being adhered to. No discipline
and social distancing is maintained despite knowing the nature of the epidemic.

Amid the lockdown, Javed Juneja, with the help of his fellow workers sanitized every building. He contacts the health department and checks the ratio of their area. Arrangements of beds were made by him each time when there is a increase in number of patients.

As a Corporator he fears that incase of any health issue, when no beds are made available, he may not be in a position to help them even if he wants to.

Javed shared an incident with Jui. A person who had come for dialysis was sent for Covid-19 test rather than getting his dialysis done. He was tested positive and was immediately shifted to Seven Hills Hospital where he was treated and also recovered in 14 days.

He also claimed that the BMC workers and other workers were also working day and night amid this pandemic. However, in the wake of overpopulation, they find it difficult to handle the crowd and
also the requirements too are somewhere falling short.

Though the officials are working but it is on slow pace.quite slow as Javed also claimed that he himself listed those who were migrant workers and distributed dry food grains to almost 5000 migrant workers. Besides him, even the BMC workers and NGO workers were distributing food items. But, being migrants some did not have gas in their houses, so these dry grains served no purpose.

Javed Juneja finally requests the government to frame the policies with authenticity as the migrants are suffering. They are all making it by foot to reach their home state. Some services such as transportation by bus should be arranged at least to a main junction.
Nagpada being a slum area 10 people stay in one house thus they find it difficult and started migrating.

Meanwhile, many people from Nagpada area who tested positive were well treated and discharged accordingly.

Meanwhile, Javed Juneja asks the people to cooperate with the police officials and follow the lockdown rules. Help them By staying home help them.
