Mumbai: Coronavirus has locked everyone at home and as well shut down all activities in Mumbai. This resulted in many people of all walks of life losing their jobs and left with no funds to survive.

Hello Mumbai News Team interacts with Shiv Sena Corporator, Shekhar Waingankar
Ward -95, H east and H west ward Committee Chairman and first time Corporator.
He covers areas like Kher Nagar, Nirmal Nagar, Jai Hind Nagar, Khatik Wadi, Kherwadi.

Speaking to Hello Mumbai News Team over phone, he said from day one of the Lockdown in entire ward, in buildings, and in slums, we undertook sanitization work , through fire brigade where people are more on-road. In corners, we did sanitization from the blower machine. From BMC provided food to the workers in Khatik Wadi, as there are Garment factories where people from UP, Bihar, Kolkata, Orissa work as labors. Provided ration comprising rice, wheat, sugar, spices, soap, potato, onion in packets approx. 20-22 kilos to more than 5000 families.

He further claimed that alongside his team have been working for the people on a regular objective. Heb got hospitalized for 12 days in Lilavati Hospital for pneumonia. Further, have also organized 3 to 4 medical camps which fetched service to nearly 25 to 30 police officers, BMC officers, the PUC department in which some people were impacted with Covid.

Moreover, said that he too was a patient from this and hence need to advise, and think about self-safety, leave from home very often, as this virus has spared none be it doctors or scientists. On seeing people who stepped out to buy vegetables.

Mumbai is a city that never sleeps. They do not possess a pattern of staying home. The shopkeepers have nominal income as people are not having money to buy.

People have realized that safety is important and to come into contact with only fewer people. Individuals’ safety should come first.

Furthermore, he said he is a Civic Corporator, but for many years he is a social worker and helped poor people of Dengue, Malaria, Typhoid, Chickenpox, patients to make them sit on a chair, to reach the ambulance, also to the hospital.

He also said that this time the crisis is large so urged people to stay safe and wishes to salute corona warriors who worked hard for people like Police, Doctor, nurse, ward boy, Bmc worker in the current situation are existing in less number in the offices, but the roads were clean, came water on time, every bmc employees has assisted and provided services. He has gone to many offices where 5% to10% of people are working but never told them anything if the tea was hot or not as they are giving their 100 percent to the work and the doctor who was treating him.

Dr. Jalil Parkar and his wife got corona, Dr. Prabhu Desai and his whole family got corona who dealt with almost 300 to 500 patients and they themselves got corona. And gave their whole and soul to their work, without consideration of their own life. Again, tells people not to do anything that will make them reach the hospital for this virus, do sanitization, follow social distancing and Tata also said now it’s not a time to see this year profit or loss took place or how much money has been earned or not, but life is important. If you are eating 4 Rotis den eat two but don’t go outside.

He further said that if compared to the developed countries like Italy, France, America, to India then Indian government has done great work as it is all about density as it will be more than will affect more people but after so vastly of the density of population but have done reasonable work. And as Indian people try to help each other it also helped.
