Mumbai: Jagdish Makune, Corporator, Ward No. 185, shares his Dharavi Pattern amid the Covid-19 induced lockdown with Hello Mumbai News reporter Jui Jadhav
Speaking to Jui Jadhav over phone, Jagdish said that the process of sanitization was carried out right from the first patient. And with the help of BMC official’s the public toilets too were sanitized twice a day. The slum areas including the gutters were cleaned and every possible safety measure were taken care of.
He further mentioned “with the help of NGO’s, ration kits were distributed alongwith sanitizer, bottles and masks.
Jagdish Makune also gives credit of zero patients to the BMC official’s as they helped him a lot and were available whenever they were called.
At a juncture when there was no availability of time, the contractors were not cleaning the toilets, but the BMC official’s called them and got the toilets cleansed. He also said that the people are responsible for getting zero patients as they had strong immunity power and awareness too.
Meanwhile, in conclusion, he says though “we have zero patients, people are now free. However, they should take care of themselves. They should wear mask and follow the rules of social distancing so that later on they don’t face any problems.
