Mumbai: The Bengal Travel Mart (BTM) aimed at displaying tourism destinations in the State is organising North-East’s biggest Travel & Tourism Fair from 22nd to 24th February 2020 at Montana Villa in Siliguri, West Bengal.

The 3-day event is being organised by the Eastern Himalaya Travel and Tour Operators Association (EHT).

Representatives engaged Tourism Department and prominent travel houses and delegates from Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan are attending the three-day event in Large numbers.

According to Sandipan Ghosh, General Secretary of the Association, they have been holding the travel mart for the very purpose of tourism in Bengal and North East. They have been hosting 80-90 domestic as well as 40-50 International Buyers from Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.

Around 113 Sellers are displaying their products at the Mart. We have two segments of the Mart – B2B & B2C.

What is most encouraging is the fact that for the very first time, we are participating in massive numbers from Bangladesh. This would further give a boost to cross-border tourism promotion said Sandipan.

The Mart focusses on promotion of homestays which have mushroomed across North Bengal and Sikkim in the past few years.

Also present at the mart were business entrepreneurs and the prominent hospitality industry.

BTM brings together business enthusiast with their tourism products and services from across the region to promote the overall tourism prosperity in this beautiful region.

Siliguri is the gateway to Northeast and is a very big tourist hub. Bengal Travel Mart is the biggest platform to boost tourism within this region and also to the neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
