While the entire world is gripped under the influence of Covid-19 Pandemic, and making most of the economies come to a stand-still, a lot many people have lost their lives and many have suffered silently.
Simultaneously the lockdown period has given rise to many opportunities too, one of which is the Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has repeatedly stressed on the need to become self-sufficient.
His message has inspired lakhs across the country, Vaishali Ashit Bothra being one of them as always love being socially active.She believes that helping others may just be the secret of living a life that is not only happier but also healthier,wealthier,more productive and meanigful.
Taking advantage of the lockdown period productively, and she being a farmer, decided to engage the farming community in the
nearby areas of Dahanu town towards organic farming. As many of the marginal farmers became jobless, she involved them in her project. This led to research and development further leading to selection of best varieties of seeds to respond towards this cause.
Infact, prior to involving other farmers, she herself did extensive research and work in
this field. The farmers were oriented about organic farming and its health benefits to self and the society at large.
Amid this entire process, care and precaution was taken for the health and safety of those involved.
Social distancing, sanitizing and use of face mask was mandatory . She also ensured that proper medication was undertaken by all those who worked together. During the last 6 months, she developed the best variety of saplings. Approximately around 9 lakh saplings of various fruits and vegetables were propagated and distributed amongst poor labourers and marginal farmers.
She also made organic compost that is produced by using earthworms which is rich in all essential nutrients required for healthy plant growth. It also contains water-soluble nutrients and is an excellent nutrient-rich organic manure and soil conditioner.
Empowerment Women in the Rural Economy and other challenges that women face in the rural economy include lack of information on job availability, hence, it was deemed
important to invest in Women’s Leadership and empower women to participate and contribute in the
design of policy measures to address future crises keeping in mind the women’s rights and empowerment which are the key elements of the pandemic response and long-term resilience. She imparted them practical guidance and resources and also
educated the tribal women of proper hand-washing and social-distancing procedures through posters. Also, she digitally taught innovative ways in making the farmers family active and rural female students the importance of farming..
Coupled with the above activity, she also undertook a course in Marketing Techniques from the World Bank Group.
She has also successfully completed the Dairy Production & Management Course and passed on the knowledge to those farmers involved with her during the Covid times.

2) Stanford Introduction to Food & Health (Grade Achieved 100%)
3) Has been certified by the World Bank’s Online Learning Initiative WBGx in “The Future of work:
Preparing for Disruption”.
4) Successfully completed the LEAD1x Course, “Exercising Leadership: Foundation Principles”. HarvardX
5) Dairy Production and Management Course from PennState College of Agricultural Science.
She was proudly guided by the message of Hon. Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi to undertake the above activities under his mission and aim of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
May he keep guiding fellow citizens like her with his vision n foresight.
She says she has found happiness in helping others..it gives her satisfaction,the sole and very definition of life is to serve towards humanity.
