Hello Mumbai News :

What Inspired to start your legal firm?

Dr.Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra :

My journey as a solicitor in the UK was not easy , though I was qualified on paper, however due to my age and no experience in the UK, no UK firms were ready to give me an opportunity.
But I was very passionate about law , to pursue my legal passion and a career. One fine day I left my well paid job in central London. I knocked on different doors for around six months , finally a mid size firm gave me an opportunity to work with them as an unpaid intern. I needed one opportunity which I seized. In two years from an unpaid internship I became a partner in the firm and thus an award winning business woman.
I have to thank my firm’s partner Arnab, who had a similar mission and vision, to grow in business and serve the clients. It has been a long journey, from immigration law we exhaled in different streams and areas of law, implementing a unique business model making it a successful legal business practice.

Hello Mumbai News:

What Challenges have you faced as a Woman Entrepreneur in Uk and according to you What challenges women Entrepreneurs face ?

Dr.Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra :

Me or any woman entrepreneur especially if you are a migrant, As a start-up, you might have lofty ideas, but advice from people who’ve walked the walk is precious.
Initially for me it was always funding, competition in the market, being a woman of color and an immigrant, establishing the firm as a successful business practices when you don’t have any godfather/mother you face cultural , language barriers ,
Knowing all digital legal practices , getting acquainted with all the ad hoc tools for business was not easy.
Limited networks and access to mentors
Because there are fewer female founders, women are less likely than men to know other entrepreneurs or to have access to mentors, or professional support networks. This presents a challenge to women looking to learn from their peers.
Balancing work and family responsibilities can be particularly challenging for women, as societal expectations and limited support systems can hinder their ability to dedicate sufficient time and energy to their businesses.
Additionally, women may face a lack of representation and mentorship in traditionally male-dominated industries, making it harder to break through the glass ceiling and establish networks.
Decisions on when to expand, and when to seek investment, can seem overwhelming, There are so many elements to a business that you won’t have thought about. Women-led firms still receive less investment than men – better networking can help women make more successful bids for funding.
I have always placed immense value on the principles of hard work, client satisfaction & care , collaboration, and innovative thinking as integral components of personal and professional success. Have always maintained pragmatic approaches for entrepreneurial endeavors, optimistic attitude, allowing myself to overcome obstacles and thrive in the competitive world of business. Believing in yourself and your abilities, being the leader doesn’t mean how much you have gained from venture , being a successful entrepreneur means equipping your team with the right skills and knowledge, When they flourish you will be rewarded. Women entrepreneurs face many obstacles. Despite this, they keep striving and breaking barriers, When you realize that each upset isn’t the end of the world.

Hello Mumbai News
Where Does your Inspiration come from?

Dr.Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra :

I always consider myself a student, there is so much to learn & get inspired from. You may draw inspiration from your own life or from the struggle of role models to fight against difficulties in life. Take a moment or two to look around you and appreciate what you can see with open eyes , personal and inspirational stories always makes me a keen learner.
Looking at the world through open eyes can be a powerful source of creative inspiration.
Sometimes in some difficult moments I didn’t have any role models so I became my own role model.

Hello Mumbai News :

The turning point in life that changed your life. Your journey from a successful businesswoman to international beauty pageant winner/coach & a philanthropist.
As a philanthropist & MIssion in SOCIAL WORK.
At the peak of my legal career , A small accident caused a brain injury leaving me partially paralytic , stammering and I was thrown into the deepest dark battles of mental health. Was it less , the Weak immune system caused a rarest type of skin cancer. After Four painful surgeries , finally death blinked and life welcomed me back with open arms.
The struggle of 3 years was real, it made see through myself, surviving deadly skin cancer and mental health battles and getting a new reincarnated life.”The life I live, I fondly call, is born, died, and reborn in the same life, An ending says you are given another chance to make a new beginning. Every story has an end, but in life, every ending is a new beginning. Before my illness I was merely playing the role of a lawyer and an entrepreneur, living for myself. But my illness made me understand when “ I” is replaced with “WE” even when illness becomes wellness. The new life made me understand my “why”.? It made me see my purpose, my mission, and my vision. I chose PEOPLE OVER PROFIT.“
With a new reincarnated life my perspective changed, being a victim of societal stigma and mental health I became VOICE TO VOICELESS choosing PEOPLE OVER PROFIT .
Working in different social causes through my charity foundation MRFA FOUNDATION.
The conventionally beautiful persona means who is attractive and means to fall within common beauty standards or to have features that society as a whole deems desirable. The definition of beauty is alway different for me.
Having skin grafting scars all over my body, I call myself a scarred queen. After my recovery from my illnesses, I was seeking a platform to raise awareness, believing in serendipity , I accepted the challenge of breaking the myths of beauty and body image. Fortunately I got the platform in uk to compete, and going forward represented the United Kingdom in the prestigious international Mrs classic Universe pageant.
Honestly speaking standing in between conventional pageant queens , I was not sure if I was going to win, but my comeback story made me get second runners up position. Making my JANMABHUMI INDIA & KARMABHUMI UK Proud.
From there my journey in pageantry started , as a pageant coach and director of an international pageant , the goal was finding more personas like Shubhangi ‘s who has a story , looking for transformation and needs a platform to raise an awareness in their causes, the mission is to create inspiring role models within the community.

Hello Mumbai News :
How you balance your professional and personal life .& can you share some tips for women Entrepreneurs to maintain balance between work and family life .

Dr.Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra :
There is no magic formula for balancing work and family life. But it doesn’t have to be complicated.

Start working on a personal and professional balance that works for you. When I feel like I’m not doing enough, I remind myself that we all see our fair share of challenges and no one is perfect.
When required and needed I take a brain break , I take a time out for myself, go outdoors and visit places. Switch off mobiles before going to bed and switch on after an hour of waking up when I am done with my morning chores , meditation and routine. Stay away from distractions and unwanted social gatherings, discussions , social media , learn to say no.
Setting priorities and boundaries, communicating effectively, making use of flexible work arrangements, practicing self-care, and seeking support when needed, women can achieve a balance that works for them and their loved ones. Remember balance is a dynamic process and may look different from one day to the next. Be flexible, Patient and don’t be harsh about yourself.
