Entrepreneurs are those adventurous, daredevils who drive deep into the pressing problems of society and try to find solutions to them, not by leaving the responsibilities in the reins of the government or business, but by trying to change systems as a whole and persuading societies to take new initiatives

India being a growing economy is a hotspot for young entrepreneurs. With a large population of more than 130 crores, businesses all over the world see it as a potential destination for establishing a start-up. For years, males dominated the business industry, leaving less or no room for females. But the trend has changed now. More and more women are jumping into the business and many have successfully established globally renowned brands. Creating job opportunities for a large number of people, the women have braved the societal pressures and stereotypes to come up with the solutions that are far more reliable and innovative.
recent years, Maharashtra has witnessed an increase in women-owned businesses in fields such as household Industry, fashion, farming, IT, manufacturing, oil, and more. The development has broken the gender stereotype where women are depicted as weaker and incapable.

These bold and fearlessly ambitious entrepreneurs are shaping the future of Maharashtra, serving as mentors to millions of women and youths.

In our Social Entrepreneur series today we are introducing you a very dynamic and popular Entrepreneur of Veraval who is known  for her remarkable and outstanding performance in the field of Social Work who always believes in Women Empowerment. Yes we are talking about Nirmalaben Dodia, she shared her Entrepreneurial journey with Hello Mumbainews.com Correspondent Janvi Panjwani

Social Entrepreneurship Sector has proven itself uniquely capable of empowering women leaders in its field, and of changing the lives and welfare of all women.
Women social entrepreneurs have, time and time again, made a deep impact in their work through a form of impact called “scaling deep” – overhauling unfair and unjust systems, sparking collaborative social movements, and reshaping dominant expectations, norms, and stigmas.

Her Education Background :

Know Nirmalaben Hamirsinh Dodia, a Gujarat based female Social Entrepreneur from Veraval. She did her education between 1952 and 1964. She is the recepient of a prize award of Rs.25 for her excellence in Sanskrit subject, by the Jalaram Trust. She topped her first rank in SSC’s Karadia caste.

Notably, amid her college years from 1964 to 1965 she excelled in Music and Ras Garba Competition and was honoured for it at the state-level Dharmendrasinhji College in Morabi Ahmedabad.
It was in the year 1966 that she was honoured for Best Cadet at Sri Virbai Mahila College and her photo appeared on the front page of Bhadra. She was rated CUO SIO for 3 years at NC.
NC she was rated CUO SIO.
Remarkably in 1969 she completed her B.ed.degree from Sri P.D. Malaviya Commerce College.

Later in 1970, she was assistant Teacher in Sri Lalbahadur Shastri Kanya Vijalaya and during this period she emerged as the first title winner of Lonavala in her training as “Yoga Teacher”
in 1971, She took to village life in 1971 and helped in the work of agriculture and at the same time prepared for M.A and got the degree. As she turned to mother 1973, she couldn’t pursue further for the desired result.

The period between 1981-1985 1985, she got good rank in the Science, Essay Writing for teachers at Taluka as well as in district level. While on service at the school as a teacher, many students scored 96 out of 100 marks in the toughest Social studies subject. For her impeccable services in the school she was honoured, but she thanked for her teacher’s training at Shri Kadavibai Virani Kanya Vidhyalaya, Rajkot. She taught from basic how to read, remember and to present.

After 2004, for her activities she received membership of Nari Suraksha Samiti from the State after three years Post as President of B.J.P. District Morcha. As yet this Samiti has not arranged any meeting. But she started her activities after getting the post.

Shri Kasturba Mahila Mandal commenced classes with her from 27/3/07 to 31/5/07 and proved a success. By virtue of that she started classes at Veraval and at the same time arranged Cricket Coaching Camp on Gujarat Gaurav Din. At Maliya, one women (Koli Women) was living a distasteful life and she sorted out the issue in the presence of Shri Maha Swetaben Vaidh. It was her personal contribution.
She was an helping hand to girls for filling the form of Std: 10 S.S.C. after getting their certificates.
She has tried her best to make them capable to pass the exam in 2008.

In view of her exemplary works on17/7/07,a sewing class was inaugured by Shri Neharu Yuvak Mandal-Junagadh. She helped in giving justice to a Prajapati for the harassment byT.D.O.

Her Social Entrepreneur Journey :

Till today the “Arya Sanskriti Audhyogik Mahila Mandal” set up by her in 2006 is serving society. She started distribution of clothes from 01/01/2009. She transformed village girls to participate in the elocution competition held on Swami Vivekanand Jayanti. She arranged sewing machines from Junagadh District Mahila Mandal to make women self reliant and subsequently started sewing classes, beauty parlour classes.

She has set up a new project with ICED to train fishermen of 1600 Meter Long sea shore against “Terrorism” in the Innovation organization of Canada.

She represented a project to CAPAT organization of New Delhi and distribution of priceless plants. In short, due to failure in politics, she couldn’t do many jobs which she had decided, so adopted different ways to fulfill her desire to serve and help people.
She was into political service from 1975.

Her husband Hamirsinh Dodiya stood with the symbol of lamp in the election. So for the opposition candidate party Indira Gandi and Atal Bihari Vajapeyi come to share their candidate’s prestige.
She was also the president of B.J.P. at district level at Junagadh. She also contested Gujarat Assembly Election in 1998 and got more than 40,000 votes. At that time B.J.P. was ruling and she contested against a Sansad who was constantly emerging victorious for three terms .
