Sudha Joshi, Teacher, at the BPA School to be honoured with National Award in the Special Educator Category on Teacher’s Day on 5th September. Prez Ram Nath Kovind to give away the award
Mumbai: The Ministry of Education on August 21 announced the names of teachers from the state selected to receive national award on September 5, Teacher’s Day.
Sudha Joshi , Teacher the Secondary School for the Blind at the Blind People’s Association (BPA) campus has been selected for the National Award which will be given away on Teacher’s Day on 5th September.
She was selected in the category of schools for disabled students.
Speaking to Hello Mumbai News Correspondent, Neha Singh , she mentioned that she has been associated with BPA since 1987. It was completely a new world for her. The main challenge for her was to teach Science and Mathematics a ver difficult to understand for higher sections.
She has also taken the BPA dance and drama team to venues in India and abroad. “The most memorable one was the performance at Rashtrapati Bhavan last year where students got a chance to perform.
In 2013, she recieved The Best Teacher Award under Special Educator Category.
She went on to add that as a teacher, her biggest reward is the remembrance of student’ s years. After this leave they work the school.” She said.
She appeals to help physically disable children by educating them. So they can become Self Independent.
