Inner Wheel Club Dis 308 Charity project News Update :
Mumbai: Ahead of sharing her views and charity work and details on Covid-19 pandemic, Anup Kaur Vilkhu said:
“Who are we now is not, who we were last year, last week, yesterday or even a minute ago. Change is the very nature of life, however, it is not always welcome or easy to deal with. The coronavirus/Covid-19 pandemic, has thrown a proverbial spanner into every aspect of our lives.”
As a resident of Himachal, first and foremost concern was on the exodus of migrants and food for those who lost their livelihoods. Tragedy was strewn all around, but the Inner Wheel Clubs, as warriors, rose magnificently to the occasion. They undertook the distribution of cooked food and dry ration which was the call of the day, especially to the old and destitute.
She added that as the situation got worsened, our next focus was on the Corona warriors! Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, sanitary workers who were posthumously revered and saluted for battling the virus head on.
Members did not lag behind in creating awareness on staying safe: social distancing, hand wash, face masks and proper sanitizing.
” I personally undertook the job of stitching and distributing masks – a way of life. After all, we are responsible citizens of India.
Earlier, social distancing was a punishment but today it becomes a necessity. During this pathetic and turbulent time, maintaining relationships is a Project in itself – calling, sending messages, having zoom meeting and occasionally meeting in small groups which all forms part of a focused effort.
Even as Office bearers amid these devastating times, it has not been easy planning or even anticipating forbthe next Project. The old planners became defunct but the new scenario cropped up new problems which ultimately, became our Projects.
“Gone were those days of fun Club meetings and outings, the bonding and the camaraderie. Inner Wheel Club became more focused and result oriented. Relatively, Kasauli is a relatively small place, where everyone is relatively accessible.
But, the biggest morale booster has been the District Officers, who have been very encouraging and motivating. Above all, the last two zoom meetings that we had with Association President Vasudhaa Chandrachud were immensely inspiring.
HOPE! Even Martin Luther King has said: Everything that is done in this world is done by HOPE. She did not ask for earth shattering change but those small passionate (Dil Se) alterations in character that could alter the way people think.
