Mumbai: Dr. Sujata Nanavati President, Inner Wheel Club Jalna Horizon, shares her experience and about her charity projects amid the Coronavirus pandemic with Hello Mumbai News reporter Anisha Nandan.
She said “this is a year when the most unexpected circumstances are showing up and making people apprehensive.
Notably, Dr. Sujata started her journey in the field of charity through Inner Wheel two months before the 1st of July 2020 when she officially started working.
Continuing, she affirmed that in the present scenario people are coping with the major issue of Covid-19 and adds that apart from helping people who are already suffering, and who might get infected and the affected, we are providing medical kits containing homeopathic medicines, Ayurvedic Kadhas, vitamin C & E tablets, Sanitizers and masks and make things more better.”
Dr Sujata further mentioned that they are starting up a project to focus on afforestation in woods of Miyawaki. Miyawaki is a technique pioneered by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. The project will be applied on 1000 square feet land on which around 300 plants will be planted. She added that this is how they will try to pay back Mother Nature what we owe, little by little.
In another Project by Inner wheel Club, Jalna, two rivers are being cleansed and the banks will be reforested again. 100 plants will be planted on the banks of Kundalika River. Amid this pandemic the people are getting jobless. Inner Wheel Club, Jalna, are looking into small scale industries specifically for women.
In the near future when the schools will gets reopened Inner Wheel Club will help the school and provide them the necessities.
The other projects will contain webinar in which they will take competitions online amongst the children such as medical related, yoga, a webinar on how health professionals are dealing with COVID 19 physically and mentally etc.
Dr Sujata further mentioned “I feel privileged that God has given me the opportunity to do the best in this difficult year
It feels like we are all united today though it’s virtual. In the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic it was definitely apprehensive but gradually the situations came back to normal. In fact we got to learn a lot of things and people got time to talk to each other because of this lockdown.
