In the United States, Mother’s Day 2022 will occur on Sunday, May 8. The American incarnation of Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914. Jarvis would later denounce the holiday’s commercialization and spent the latter part of her life trying to remove it from the calendar. While dates and celebrations vary, Mother’s Day traditionally involves presenting moms with flowers, cards and other gifts.

As we all know that a mother has very special place in the heart of her kids. Why not, she really deserves it. She takes care of her child about everything at every moment. Mother is the epitome of love, care, support, and is the biggest warrior. Mother is the one who teaches you to walk, eat, write, speak and learn. Mother’s Day is the day for the celebration of motherhood and honouring motherhood. It is the day to remember all her sacrifices for the sake of others and respect them. Mother’s Day teaches to respect and love our mothers. So, Wishing all the mothers are very happy Mother’s Day. A Radiant Light of Kindness not only brightens the path of Life for the one it touches, but it empowers the traveler to reflect more positivity for the benefit of others.
Kumkum Gupta is one such Kind hearted person, who has been a guiding light for many individuals who have met her in her diverse paths of Life.
Born in an Influential business family of the fragrance capital of India, Kannauj. Kumkum Gupta’s father, Late Shri Dwarika Prasad Gupta showed her the joys of simple living and the importance of Relationships and family, over luxuries and wants. She took an active part in Cultural programs and Sports during her College time and earned a well deserved Masters in Sociology. Her ability to socialize and communicate nicely with others enabled her to add more and more people to her Circle along the way .
In February of 1991 , Kumkum got married to Ashu Gupta, an Influential Businessman in Lakhimpur. Her Father in Law, Late Rtn. Shri Virendra Kumar Gupta was a widely respected Senior Income Tax Lawyer of the city and Her Mother in Law, PDC. Late Shri Saroj Gupta was actively involved with the Inner Wheel District 312 and also Contributed to it from the position of District Chairman.
Her Son, Sarthak Gupta completed his High School education from CMS Lucknow, and graduated from Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa. After which Sarthak successfully opened a Food Take Away in Delhi, and with his hard work and vision made it a top rated Eating joint in a highly competitive city like Delhi. He is Currently working with a reputed Digital Marketing Agency in Delhi.
Her Elder Daughter, Ayushi Gupta completed her schooling from La Martiniere Lucknow, and went on to graduate from SRCC, Delhi University. She like her mother was a kind soul, and was always helping people around her and people who needed help. Her nature involved her with various Social Service Projects which even took her out of the country to work with underprivileged Children. Unfortunately ,She passed away in a Car Accident in 2013.
Like Any mother would have, Kumkum also had her phase of uncontrollable grief and unacceptance of the new reality. Moments like these should never be a part of someone’s life, but there isn’t much that anyone can do, when they happen. In times like these, Immense Courage and responsibility towards loved ones are tested to the core, and new purposes and meanings circle the mind to move on with life.
After coming to terms with the new reality, KumKum had a new perspective on Life. Her kind and helping nature pushed her to start an Organization to benefit young girls of Lakhimpur and nearby villages. Ayushi, the Smile Foundation started training girls to develop their skills in Chikan embroidery ,Sewing and Croatia Sewing. The Foundation awards them with certificates after their examinations, and guides them in their further endeavors.
Kumkum’s time is mostly occupied with family, work and Social Service Activities.
Her interest in Cultural activities has helped support Singing and dance functions in the city, and her association with various Groups and Social Clubs has helped kickstart many Social Projects, like Anti Plastic bags Drive , Meena Bazaar for and Rainwater harvesting for sustainable use of water.
Her major involvement in the city’s popular Hotel Ashirwad speaks volumes of her hard work in Business as well. With all the various things that Kumkum keeps busy with, she always has a Soft and kind attitude and is ever ready to help someone in any way she can. She has been associated with Inner Wheel Club 312 Along with actively participating in the activities of Inner Wheel Club, She was the Founding President of the NAVDISHA Project. Her Journey with Inner Wheel Club 312 has been of learning and achievements. Kumkum is also an Organ Donor.
