Pune:- Many young students’ dreams and ambitions were devastated due to covid 19which started in March 2020. But Swapnali Gaikwad, a latur native, now studying in pune was unafraid to go beyond these restrictions and spread her very distinct wings. Swapnali Gaikwad, a young Student of Pune’s MIT Vishwashanti Sangeet Kala Academy started giving music lessons in 2018 to help fund her studies at the University.

But because of the COVID 19 pandemic safety rules, she was obliged to move these classes to online platforms. But the pandemic did not stop her from flying and reaching the heights of success. After a lot of research and efforts, she got inspired by our very own honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s initiative “Digital India” and tried to reach out to students across the globe with her social media accounts.

24 year old Swapnali says“I am surprised by the number of enrollments that have come, from all across the globe, this included students from the US, UK, Australia, Germany, and France. She was amazed by the fact that a student from Pakistan and Japan who did not speak English enrolled to learn Indian Classical Singing’’. She teaches Indian Classical (Hindustani), Semi-Classical, Devotional music in her online classes.

“From March 2020 when covid 19 started till now I have successfully taught Indian classical music to almost 546 students from all over the world. Currently, more than 150 students are taking my online classes”, said Swapnali.

Neha Ganjoo, a student who took music lessons from Swapnali during covid 19 pandamic said that, It was a very nice experience to learn classical music from Swapnali ma’am. First I was a bit skeptical about learning music online. But the way Swapnali ma’am taught music, the learning experience was similar to in real class. Plus these classes also helped me to cope with covid 19 anxiety.

Student from Japan named Hisael Williams said, that Swapnali was very kind and patient while teaching me Indian classical music. I am from Japan and don’t speak Hindi. Swapnali’s method of teaching helped me learn Indian music even as I don’t understand the language.

Now Swapnali is taking a step further to help upcoming young artists and folk artists from rural Maharashtra to help them fly in the music industry. That is why she has started her Music Label “After Dream Entertainment” with a vision and mission to help the musical artists who lost their earnings due to Covid Pandemic and those upcoming artists who want to thrive in the Indian Classical musical industry. After Dream Entertainment is now producing the album of youngster Sairaj Ghuge from Parbhani and Pratiksha Ghule, Beed. This album will be released in the coming few days.

“We are also planning to help artists to monetize their work online through After Dream Entertainment. I hope that my artists should get international recognition for the work my label is producing, `said Swapnali.

About Swapnali Gaikwad:

Since the age of ten, Swapnali Gaikwad aspired to be an artist, an Indian classical singer. Her music teacher, Pt. Baburao Borgaonkar encouraged and helped her foray into the world of Indian classical music. But her birth in a conservative middle class family, to a couple who happen to be Zilla Parishad teachers, reduced her dreams and aspirations to a mere hobby. She continued her studies and got into the field of Engineering. It didn’t take her long to know she wasn’t cut out for that life. She switched to music in the second year of her studies and got herself enrolled at MIT Vishwashanti Sangeet Kala Academy in Pune’s Loni Kalbhor. Swapnali is inspired by the late.
