Emotion is a mental state [variously associated with thoughts, feelings, behavioral responses and a degree of pleasure or displeasure.
Emotions are often intertwined with mood, temperament, personality, disposition, and motivation. It is often said that emotional imbalance leads to health issues and to discuss briefly on this, today we have Manisha Agarwal once again with us
Manishaji please tell us how does emotions create diseases in our body?
Well, we generally don’t think about too much emotions but I have noticed with my experience that, most of the diseases are directly connected to our emotions. If we keep a watch on our emotions, we can actually work on many diseases like headache and many more, but we actually never thought as to why do we have headache and we assume that it may be because of lack of sleep or too much stress. Just to say that I am stressed are we done with it? Not really. We need to understand what exactly our body wants to indicate us through headache. Can we opt for some exercise, which we all can try rather than using the word stress and taking pills? If you get headache, stop and ask yourself where and how you have just made yourself wrong. Forgive yourself and let it go. Trust me the headache will dissolve.
It is said that problems related to throat also have emotional connection. How far is it true?
Gaytri, throat represents our ability to speak up for ourselves, ask for what we desire and express our views through words. When we have a throat problem it usually means we don’t feel we have the right to do these things. In short inadequate to stand up for ourselves. Sore throat indicates anger. If cold is involved then there is a mental confusion.
It usually means you are too angry and you can’t speak. Throat also represents the creativity in your body. When our creativity is stiff and frustrated we often have a throat problem. We have seen many people who has lived there whole life for others. They never get to do what they want to do. They are always pleasing someone or the other. These kinds of people mostly suffer from TONSILLITIS or Thyroid. Try a small exercise like touching your throat and saying “I am willing to change or I am changing”. Once this exercise is started you can heal your issue on a certain level. I don’t recommend stopping your medication, but with this simple exercise you can heal to a certain level.
Is it really important to talk to ourselves?
When we understand small things about our body we can cure many diseases. Our body gives us the sign of what’s going right or wrong within our body and is built with emotions and thoughts. Once you start addressing both of them you can feel the drastic change in your mood as well as your health. We have a habit of keeping negative emotions to ourselves and generally don’t want to address these painful issues. We try not to talk about it and try to cover it up. Most of the time these issues need forgiveness and that whenever we all are ill, we need to look around to see who it is that we need to forgive. You need to let go of the issues. Your body needs love, affection and care; not these unwanted emotional issues. Therefore talk to yourself.
