Mumbai: “Ride2Rise” Bicycle Ride organised ahead of Maharashtra Police International Marathon (MPIM)

Mumbai: Maharashtra Police is gearing up to organise “Ride2Rise” a Bicycle Ride strengthening bonds between Maharashtra Cycling Community & Maharashtra Police ahead of Maharashtra Police International(MPIM) Marathon, an International Level Sporting Event.
This event is scheduled for Sunday, 9th February 2020.

Team MPIM also organised a Bicycle Ride on Sunday, 2nd February 2020. This ride was held to Kickoff MPIM and connect the entire Maharashtra Cycling Community with Maharashtra Police.

Cycling is used as cross training for Running and vice-versa. This “Ride2Rise” is conducted to promote Cycling among the Runners and encourage them to aspire attempting Dualthlon Races (Running + Cycling) and Triathlon Races (Running + Cycling + Swimming) across the World. The dream is to have a fleet of Triathletes representing India on the Global Map of Ironman events.

Three Routes have been identified starting from Panvel, Kalyan and Mira-Bhayander. Cyclists will reach Maharashtra Police Headquarters in Colaba after cycling through different routes connecting all major districts in and around Mumbai City. “Ride2Rise” is being spearheaded by Bicycle Ride Partner Mr. AbdulRab Kazi (Founder & Admin of Maharashtra Cycling Community) along with “Team We-Wake” and under the direct guidance of Shri Krishna Prakashji (IG Admin, Maharashtra Police).

Cyclist from all over Maharashtra majorly from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan and Panvel will be cycling on these routes, sporting Indian Flag and the Flag of Maharashtra Police & MPIM.

All three routes will have Marshalls from Maharashtra Police on their Motorcycles, Motor Vehicles; along with Ambulance on each route.

Cyclists participating in this “Ride2Rise” will showcase Unity and Brotherhood among the Cycling Community and also the trust, faith and support to the Maharashtra Police.

Maharashtra Police encourages Citizens to take up Cycling as a Sport and as an eco-friendly means of commuting to reducing Traffic and Pollution.
