Odissi Dance Centre organised its first Annual show – Pranava 2018 on 25th November afternoon at Swtantrya Veer Savarkar Auditorium , Dadar West. Smt Priyanki Gupta , founder of the dance centre opened the show with a graceful and traditional odissi dance piece – Mangalacharan Ramashtakam , the tale of Lord Rama. It was followed by beautiful classical sequences by her students from 4 year olds onwards. There were also few interesting dance performances where the little kids danced with the senior students who were working women and housewives. Srigarmani awardee Priyanki Gupta choreographed some brilliant set pieces in the second half where they celebrated traditional folk dances. The program concluded with all the fascinating display of colours and dance where all her students filled the stage with some imaginative synchronised performances. Pranava 2018 was inaugurated by renowned Manipuri dance veteran Padmashri Darshana Jhaveri who blessed the students for carrying the tradition forward. Priyanki Gupta is trained by prominent Odissi dancer Smt Sharmila Biswas and she has performed in the major dance festivals across the world. She is also learned from Padmavibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra and Sonal Man Singh.
