The Dubai Public Prosecution office said on Tuesday that the investigation into actor Sridevi’s death was complete and that the case has been closed.

The Twitter page of a Dubai media office has a tweet, which reads, “The decision to release the body came after all the investigations and procedural matters followed in such incidents were completed, in order to determine all its circumstances and ensure that justice was done within the framework of the law. The Dubai Police has also handed over a clearance letter to Sridevi’s family, allowing them to take her body back home to conduct her last rites.

The initial death certificate was issued on Monday. The embalming process, which helps preserve the body, can take a few more hours. Sridevi’s mortal remains are expected to arrive in Mumbai tonight.

Sridevi was discovered dead in the bath-tub of the Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel on Saturday night. The police have determined that her death was caused by ‘accidental drowning’ and reports claim that there were traces of alcohol in her blood-stream.
Sridevi’s body has reached the Dubai International Airport and a private chartered jet will carry the body and family members back to Mumbai. Boney Kapoor is being accompanied by his son Arjun Kapoor, reports our Chief Correspondent.
