Mumbai: Mumbai Airhostess decomposed body found in a Vile Parle Society flat, Police suspect suicide

Mumbai: In a shocker, news comes to light of the discovery of a highly decomposed body of a 29-year-old airhostess identified as Sultana Shaikh in flat no.504 on the 5th floor of Rajalaxmi building at Shahaji Raje Road in Vile Parle East.

As per police reports, residents of the 5th floor of building sensed a foul smell emanating from a closed flat on Wednesday night. The door of the flat was opened with duplicate keys.
After discovery of the decomposed deadbody, they informed the police.

According to PSI Sachin Patil, the body was rushed to the Cooper hospital where it was handed over for post mortem on Thursday after the COVID-19 tests were conducted which came negative.

Police however, believe that the post-mortem reports will reveal. the exact cause of death, though prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide.

Upon questioning the residents of the building by the police, it comes to light that Sultana Shaikh had been living in the rented flat for quite some time. Off late was reeling through depression for which she was under medication.

Police reports also reveal she had been confined to the four walls of her house, like other members of the housing society, in the wake of the lockdown. That precisely the reason why none in the society suspected anything apathetic when she was not seen outside her flat for many days.
