Mumbai: Leading Diamond Merchant Dhiren N. Kumar commits suicide- Police files an accidental death report
Mumbai: In a shocking news a 61 year old Dhiren N Kumar, leading Diamond Merchant, committed Suicide by jumping off a Commercial high-rise at Zaveri Bazar on Tuesday Morning.
According to the DB Marg Police, Dhiren Shah died instantly following his fall from the 15th Floor of Prasad Chambers which houses the establishments of leading Diamond Merchants. The body has been sent for post mortem.
Speaking to the media persons Inspector Suryakant Bangar said that in a two-line suicide note, which was found on the desk of the deceased, Shah has mentioned that his decision to take the drastic step was entirely his and none should be blamed for it. The inspector added that an accidental death report (ADR) has been filed and further investigations are on.
Meanwhile, the police are yet to attribute any reason for the suicide.
Shah, owned a diamond polishing and export company, on the top floor of the 15 storeyed Prasad Chambers.
Like on a normal day, Shah reached his office around 9.40-9.50 am on Tuesday morning. Shah had told some of his employees that he was going to the terrace of the building for a stroll. Within minutes he jumped from the terrace.
Shah lived with his family at Napean Sea Road. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter. His son lives in the USA, taking care of the overseas business concerns of the family business.
Bangar said that no sooner the last rites were performed, he would record the statement of the employees at Shah’s firm and his family members.
