Mumbai: Mumbai Rotarian Prof. Yogesh Zaveri, Rotary Club of Mumbai Ghatkopar, Rotary International District 3141, shares his candid experience amid lockdown in a telephonic interview with Hello Mumbai News Corrospondent Shikha Singh : 

Mumbai: Mumbai Rotary Club,
is exceptionally recognised as an organization for all its charitable service and other Ghatkopar, Rotary International District 3141. The Club is credited for its significant activities and is also hailed as one of the pioneers in India of the Rotary movement, devoted to the ideal of fellowship through service.

Speaking to Hello Mumbai News , Mr. Yogesh Zaveri asserts that amid the lockdown crisis, under his able guidance, his Club has distributed 2500 + ration kits of essential grains, sufficient for about a month to daily wage earners and deprived people who have no other source of income.
The Rotary district 3141 has distributed more than 9500 such ration kits in Mumbai through
their various Clubs.

The Club also runs a community kitchen in Ghatkopar in Association with Rotary Club of Bombay and Rotary Club of Mumbai Versova. Through this kitchen they have distributed 4500 hot meal packets daily twice, each day for lunch and dinner to the needy and deprived people.

In a span of 21 days, they have
served total more than 1.70 lakhs such packets of hot food twice in a day in slum areas of Ghatkopar and
around.

They also have distributed PPE kits and masks to Kasturba Hospital, St. George Hospital and Nair
Hospital worth of Rs. 2 Lacs.

Recently they are gearing up to set up 11 machines for dialysis ward in a Charitable Hospital for covid patients.

Over and above, through his good offices, he made arrangements for 40 low cost ventilators for a Charitable Hospital and got a normal ward converted to an ICU for covid patients.

Further sharing his personal views on Covid-19 pandemic, Mr. Zaveri asserted that besides health hazards, covid has drained the economy and it would take at least few months to return to a normal life.

He is much satisfied with the performance by the government Agencies. He further proudly said that in comparision to more developed countries, we have been able to control situation so as to lose less human lives.

As a Club they continue with their work in the most humble way in all forms l by helping the hungry people to get food packets for as long as possible period through their project.

Brief introduction of Rotarian Prof. Mr. Yogesh Zaveri:

He is a Charter Member from March 1985 of Rotary Club of Mumbai.

He is also past President of the Club and has been honoured with several coveted Awards such as *Service Above Self*, an highest award of Rotary International. He is the proud recepient of Rotary Ratna Award Four times for his exemplary community service work. He is also the recepient of *Swarnim Gujrat* award at the hands of Past Chief Minister of State of Gujarat.

Mr.Yogesh Zaveri’s message to the people is to honor the government guidelines and to remain safe and to take care of self and family.
