Mumbai: Xavier Rocky Rego, Police Inspector,1993 Batch, currently posted at Vakola Police Stn dies of Covid-19 pandemic, test results are awaited.

Following the unlock-4, the Mumbai is seeing a massive spike in cases of Coronavirus-Covid-19, day-to-day. Mumbai Police Personnel on duty as Frontline Covid Warriors to safeguard the city and its people have however falling victims to the deadly pandemic.

With new cases and deaths reported practically every day, n COVID-19 count in Maharashtra Police reaches to a staggering 15,000/-

Mumbai: Xavier Rocky Rego, Police Inspector,1993 Batch, currently posted at Vakola Police Stn dies of Covid-19 pandemic, test results are awaited.

Earlier, the Police Department lost Sameet Harish Chandra, Pawar, 45, PI, Charkop Police Station, who died of Covid-19 on 27 August at the Seven hills hospital, Marol, Andheri (East), then 40 year old Vinayak Babar, Police Sub-inspector attached to Deonar Police Station, Navi Mumbai, also succumbed to Coronavirus, followed by 54 years old PI Vishwanath Tambe(PI Admin) Mulund Police Station who also died due to Covid-19.

Ironically, at a time when the Mumbai Police Department are losing its policemen on duty as Frontline Warriors, saving the life of people and the Financial hub, the Maharashtra Government, the Police Dept and the BMC are more bothered about demolition of unauthorised structures of Bollywood Celebs, on incarceration of Rhea Chakraborty and so forth.

In some places in Maharashtra, there is also no provision of oxygen in hospitals with the result, a Covid patient loses life besides others in need of oxygen.

Even the media, both print and electronic seem to be more bothered to cover news on arrest of Rhea Chakraborty and the demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s office and house.

The Police Personnel believe in ‘Duty First’ and sacrifice everything in their life. For them no celebration of festivals with family. They are at the beck and call of duty.

To sum up, Maharashtra is reeling through a very bad phase both economic grounds and battling with Corona-Covid-19 pandemic.
