Already mired in controversy over possession of huge currency stashed at her plush apartment in Kolkata, Arpita Mukherjee who has been in news for the past week after being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in Kolkata last Friday, has fallen a victim to yet another crime after ED on raid of her residence again found expensive Toys valued in crores.
For a small-time actor Arpita Mukherjee, who has mostly played side roles in a few Indian films in her career, the rise has been meteoric. Raids were conducted at her plush South Kolkata apartment during which the ED seized Rs 280 million (approx 3.5 million USD) currency from her flat which was suspected to be proceeds of kickbacks in the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) recruitment scam.
Mukherjee is well recognised as a close associate of Trinamool Congress party(TMC) leader and State Minister Partha Chatterjee- a co-accussed in the Currency seizure case.
What stuck out the bewildered ED Team the most were two sex toys that were found in Arpita’s flat that have managed to steal the thunder from crores of currenct stashed in her apartment.
The ED officers have now decided to grill Arpita for not just about the valuables that were recovered but also about the sex toys.
Meanwhile, Twitter handle users have already started trolling Arpita Mukherjee for this latest development.
Earlier, Former West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee was grilled and arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the teacher recruitment scam. The financial probe agency has so far unearthed Rs 50 crore cash from Partha Chatterjee’s aide, Arpita Mukherjee.
