Deepika Padukone turns emotional at song launch of the title track of “Chhapaak”

Meghna Gulzar helmed “Chhapaak”also produced by her and Co-produced by Deepika Padukone has been grabbing headlines in print media as well as social media. It is a film which is much talked and raved about for Deepika’ s lead character as the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

Deepika turned emotional and tears rolled down from her eyes as she launched the song of the much-awaited film “Chhapaak’ title track on Friday 3rd December.

The film is based on the life of acid attack victim Laxmi Agarwal and her struggle to get justice. Veteran Lyricist Gulzar has penned the soulful song which has been sung by Arijit Singh. The song traces Malti’s journey from her acid attack to her brave fight and victory.

The song launch was also graced by director Meghna Gulzar and Vikrant Massey, who played Malti’s love interest in the film. Laxmi Agarwal, who currently hosts a TV show, was also present at the launch event. Emotionally charged Deepika thanked Laxmi Agarwal for trusting the cast and crew with her story

Chhapaak which is scheduled to hig the silver screen on January 10, 2020, marks Deepika Padukone’s debut as a Producer.

Even as Deepika returns to the silver screen after two years as Padmaavat was her last film, Meghna Gulzar too returns after two years. Her last release was Raazi in 2018.
