Sunira Khullar is a ray of hope for everyone who has fallen into trap of fad diets and is looking to improve their health with the simplest yet practical meal plans & food psychology. Although being a nutritionist, I’m a foodie also there’s no deprivation in my meal plans and on the plate. I love curating new recipes and sharing them with my clients to make them “Eat Better Not Less”.

Hello Mumbai News: Tell something about your startup and how people can benefit from it?

Sunira Khullar: After working with renowned Gyms & Fashion Models I gained an experience in the field and started my journey as a clinical dietician and improved the nutritional status of many people belonging to Raipur, J&K, Gurgaon, Punjab, and a few overseas clients in the USA, Dubai, and Canada with my therapeutic diet plans, many have transformed their body and successfully managed and reversed their lifestyle disorders. I have expertise in the management of diabetes, obesity, hypertension & PCOD. She has also experience giving nutritional therapy to GDD and autistic Patients…At the same time, I have experience treating lean & underweight Patients.

Hello Mumbai News: What Challenges have you faced as a women Entrepreneur and how did you overcome them?

Sunira Khullar: I was a medical student from Bakshi Nagar Jammu, completed my graduation in the year 1999 from women’s Prade college. Being focused on the health department. I tried the entrance Exam for MBBS only once and after not getting successful without wasting my tests and trials, I decided to go for a bachelor of science and then can have some other qualifications

Due to certain personal family circumstances, I was not supported to have my medical studies from any other state of India. But I felt that still there were many sectors to prove myself. During 2000-2001 I joined my PG Diploma course in health and nutrition and at the same time I applied for PG Diploma in computer application. In both fields, I score good marks in the first division. This encourages my inner zest to explore more in my studies. So after that, I applied for a bachelor’s in education and then also did a master’s in education. After that, I have been selected for the scholarship form of MCSE (Microsoft Certified course of System Engineering). Right after my studies, my parents fixed my marriage to a person belonging to one of the renowned business families of Jammu. As I belong to such a renowned family I was not supported to do the job in the private sector. Finally, I decided to open my institution where I served students for 6 years, but this was not the end of my journey, at the same time I joined convent school – St. Peters Karan Bagh (ICSE Board) where I served for many years. In the year 2016, I shifted to Raipur capital city of Chhattisgarh and I joined KPS (CBSE) as a science teacher. During the 2019corona, when many people required health guidance and correct lifestyle habits I decided to give a new direction to my career as was already having my qualifications in hand.

Hello Mumbai News: What Inspired you to start your business?

Sunira Khullar: In the year 2019 due to Covid, many people were suffering from chest infections and also suffered from post-Covid disorders, all because of the wrong myth of eating habits. When I was admitted to ICU due to Corona Chest infection, during that time I experience many people losing their lives due to wrong eating habits in that ICU ward. Patients suffering from Corona infection use to opt for juices or sugary components which was against the corona. Even during critical conditions, they never accepted to wear the oxygen mask and within hours I have seen them collapsing, this was not tolerable by my inner self. Right after my discharge first of all changed my family’s eating habits and then started guiding people also. This social service has benefited many people and hence decided to open a nutritional therapy center.

Hello Mumbai News: Where does your inspiration come from?

Vaishali Bothra: To do good for society is our family tradition which I have been able to successfully acquire and I think without which the mere profiling is a futile act. My religion too teaches me the same thing.

Hello Mumbai News: What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Vaishali Bothra: When you get rewarded for what you do gives you a immeasurable pleasure. When I was awarded the Best horticulturist by then hon. President Shri. Pranabda Mukharjee and I got recognised as the Corona Warrior by the United Kingdom organisation I was very happy and content that whatever I am doing is good.

Hello Mumbai News: What piece of advice would you give to college graduates who want to become entrepreneurs?

Vaishali Bothra: The main dimension of the graduation should be the self belief and communicate with confidence. These both skills will help them go higher.

Hello Mumbai News: What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Vaishali Bothra: Just like i said earlier: the self belief, respect for the society which has empowered us and the skills stand in front of thousands with your ideas are three powerful things that may make a successful entrepreneur.

Hello Mumbai News: What entrepreneurial tricks have you discovered to keep you focused and productive in your day-to-day busy schedule?

Vaishali Bothra: The three tricks I learnt are the forgiveness for mistakes, a consistent motivation and never to lose focus on your immediate objective.

Dr Deepti Desai:

Category: Professional Entrepreneur

Based: Pune

Hello Mumbai News: Could you Introduce yourself for our readers.
Dr Deepti Desai: My name is Dr Dipti Desai. I am a dentist and self-taught, multimedia artist based in Pune, India. I graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Government Dental College in Mumbai and further went on to do postgraduation at the University of Queensland in Australia.

Hello Mumbai News: What Inspired to start your Business.
Dr Deepti Desai: Upon my return from Australia, I worked as a lecturer for two years at Government Dental College in Mumbai. I subsequently moved to Pune, where I set up my private dental practice. I loved what I did. Interacting with people and healing was what I loved to do. Through my journey in dentistry my passion for art always remained. My journey with colours started in the early childhood. I started an art studio where I would work between my clinic hours.

Hello Mumbai News: What Challenges have you faced as a Woman Entrepreneur and how did you overcome them.
Dr Deepti Desai: With the passage of time, I managed to juggle both art and education. Through my gruelling college years in Dental Schools both in India and Australia art kept me balanced and always in happy spirits. Through the years I continued with both the professions. Having a busy practice schedule in the mornings and evenings, afternoons and early mornings were devoted to art. Managing home, clinic and my art was tough. I took up courses in graphic design and attended workshops in both the professions on regular basis.

Hello Mumbai News: Tell Something about your Start-up and how people can benefit from it.
Dr Deepti Desai: For most people a visit to the dentist spells calamity. The idea of sitting in the chair and being subjected to injections and drilling gives visions of torture sessions. My objective was to desensitize my patients to the various treatments and make it an interactive session. My clinic is a happy place, not intimidating, where patients can feel comfortable. I have found a place for art in my dental practice too. My clinic walls are plastered with happy paintings where one is transported to a seaside resort in middle of a dental extraction. I am currently focused on art therapy. I share my journey and joy acquired from art as a form of therapy and healing. I have been working with several institutions and hospitals where I teach art. I believe art helps to heal.

Hello Mumbai News: Where does your inspiration come from?
Dr Deepti Desai: With respect to dentistry healing and happy smiles has always been my mantra. People walk into the clinic with a grimace and walk out with smiles. Relieving patients pain gives me immense satisfaction. I consider it a job well done. Where art is concerned travelling visiting museums and doing plein air sketching and painting with other fellow artists through different parts of the world also was a learning experience. Having acquired a diploma in graphic design, I started using different materials, like discarded newspapers, broken crockery, stained glass, beads, mirrors, industrial and IT waste and created art works amalgamating different materials with graphic art and traditional art media. Through various mentor groups and workshops, I acquired the cutting skills and equipment, essential for stained glass mosaic works. Creating stories using discarded waste and paint media adds a third dimension to my art work. The thrill of visualizing the final creation out of something as inanimate like a glass piece or ceramic shard is immense. Creating expressions, feelings, eyes, human forms, animal expressions and vegetation from glass pieces and other materials comes with a lot of hard work. The portraits are particularly difficult. To recreate the twinkle in the eye, or pensiveness in the eyes, one has to imagine the same. It is like bringing dozens of glass pieces together in various shades to capture the right look in the eyes. I have exhibited my works in India and several of my art works have found homes abroad.

Hello Mumbai News: Do you feel that in India there are enough structures and facilities put in place to assist women to expand their Startup Journey.
Dr Deepti Desai: Dentistry is very evolved in India. We have many workshops informing dentists about latest materials and technology. Also continuing education and dental conferences offer a wealth of knowledge regarding the latest trends in dentistry. Where art is concerned graphic art is an evolving field. There are several courses offered by institutions to learn the basics. However it is up to the artist to use the tools and create works of art. Mosaic art is still a new concept in India and awareness of this form of art is yet low key.

Hello Mumbai News: How you balance your professional and personal life.
Dr Deepti Desai: In the initial years it was very tough. One had to really juggle to find the right momentum. Family always came first. With passage of time responsibilities dwindled and now I can comfortably manage my profession and personal life.

Hello Mumbai News: What advice would you give to someone who are aspiring Women Entrepreneur
Dr Deepti Desai: Follow your dream. If you like what you do then it is not work it is a passion.

Hello Mumbai News: what Women Inspire you.

Hello Mumbai News: Could you Introduce yourself for our readers.
Sanjukta Arun: I am Sanjukta Arun, Contemporary Artist from Mumbai, being 30 yrs in the industry.
I am a Curator and Founder of La Aartemisia Studio and Gallery.

Hello Mumbai News: What Inspired to become Artist.
Sanjukta Arun: Art has always been my calling, since my childhood days, however i pursued my formal education in Management studies and took up a corporate career.
But Art was calling me, so after a short stint in the Corporate world, i quit to pursue my passion. And took up my Art journey very seriously.
Art is akin to meditation for me.
It was not an easy task as the industry is very selective, with not much of formal education in Art, it was an uphill task to make my visibility felt. But as i was very good in the work, and with dedication and hardwork, my art found its place in the industry. And reached far and wide.

Hello Mumbai News: What Challenges have you faced as a Woman Artist and painter and how did you overcome them.
Sanjukta Arun: Challenges were many, as i took up art, firstly it is a career which does not guarantee you a steady income, unless you are attached to any organisation. You dont have a pay cheque to take back every month. But if your art is good, it will reach the buyer and then there is nothing stopping you.
As a woman artist, it was challenging, as we women have to multitask, maintain a home-work balance, since i was an independent artist, i had to face these. Work at very early hours, so the day could be used for the family. There were highs and lows, somedays were very tough.
There were limitations for travel for camps etc as my child was small, her education etc.
But in the end all paid up. Now i am concentrating fully in my art industry.

Hello Mumbai News:  Tell Something about your Painting.
Sanjukta Arun: I am drawn to Nature, and i feel we have to create awareness about the destruction due to concretisation and industrialisation, and how awareness can help us preserve mother earth, so that this doesnt fade away.
I also paint the Divine.
I paint in Semi abstract forms, as i feel i want to make the viewer understand the depth of my creations.

Hello Mumbai News:  Where Does your Inspiration come from.
Sanjukta Arun: My inspiration comes from my surroundings, travel , happenings and my thoughts relatively.

Hello Mumbai News: Do you feel that in India there are enough structures and facilities put in place to assist women to expand their Startup Journey.
Sanjukta Arun: Absolutely! There is a plethora of avenues available for women for start ups, small and large businesses.
One has to take prifessional assistance to explore these avenues.

Hello Mumbai News:  How you balance your professional and personal life .
Sanjukta Arun: Balance of both professional and personal life is the key to success of anything. Prioritising is important, so that is my mantra, which has kept me going.

Hello Mumbai News:  What advice would you give to someone who are aspiring Women Entrepreneur
Sanjukta Arun: Planning far ahead and being focussed on the same with respect to your venture.
Not to give up on tough days, as this too will pass.
Networking is important, so is visibility.

Hello Mumbai News: what Women Inspire you.
Sanjukta Arun: I have been greatly inspired by Amrita Shergill, Freida Kahlo, B Prabha, Anjolie Ela Menon are my role models as far as Art goes.
Sudha Murthy is my role model.

Dr. Mughdha Raut:

Category: Professional Entrepreneur

Based: Mumbai

Hello Mumbai News: Could you Introduce yourself for our readers.
Dr. Mughdha Raut:  I am Dr. Mugdha Raut, a practicing Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a Reproductive Immunologist. We have Centres, Dr. Raut’s Centre for Reproductive Immunology, in Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune in India and one international centre in Kuwait. At these Centres, along with my husband, Dr. Mohan Raut, we treat couples with Unexplained Repeated Pregnancy Loss, Unexplained IVF failures and Unexplained Infertility with Lymphocyte Immunization Therapy and other passive Immunomodulatory treatments.

Hello Mumbai News: What Inspired to become Doctor.
Dr. Mughdha Raut: I am privileged to come from a family where Women were treated equal to men even before I was born. So girls education in the field of their choice was as equal to boys education, with the same opportunities. There are men and women of all professions in my family. There are more doctors in my father’s side of the family. Their passion and dedication inspired me to become a doctor. I was always amazed by how the human body is created and really loved studying biology from childhood and then medicine. I realised that I am very passionate about learning about living organisms. It came naturally to me.

Hello Mumbai News: What Challenges have you faced as a Woman doctor and how did you overcome them.
Dr. Mughdha Raut: As a woman doctor, the main challenges I faced is that –
-Men don’t like to be examined by a woman doctor.
-I had heard from seniors that women are not good surgeons, so people prefer to get operated by men than by women. In reality, women are really good surgeons.
– Orthopedic surgery is not a woman thing

Hello Mumbai News: Tell us Something about your professional journey.
Dr. Mughdha Raut: I started my private practice in 1992. I had a very good practice from the beginning. I think my passion reflected in my treatment. I initially used to consult at various places, operate and deliver patients at different places. Once, there were three patients in labour at 3 different hospitals. That’s when I decided, this has to stop. I luckily chose the right life partner, who also happens to be a gynaecologist. So we decided to start a hospital of our own, a place where, if I were to be operated, I will go ( I was operated upon by my husband in our hospital also). With the support of my parents, we started our hospital. Gradually we made changes in our practice, started our Reproductive Immunology Centre too.

Hello Mumbai News: Where Does your Inspiration come from.
Dr. Mughdha Raut: My inspiration comes from my parents and my paternal grandfather.

Hello Mumbai News: Do you think Medical is best profession for Women and Why?
Dr. Mughdha Raut: A woman should choose a profession she is passionate about and it may not always be medicine. A proper professional degree in the profession of her choice and constant upgradation is of prime importance. Both our daughters are pursuing professions of their choice, which are not in the medical field. And both are very happy

Hello Mumbai News: How you balance your professional and personal life .
Dr. Mughdha Raut: This is the toughest area of my life. I could write a book on this. The early years were easy due to the more than 100% support from my parents. As they started falling unwell, it was very very difficult for me. A woman has to manage her profession, children, home and many more things. My husband is my pillar of strength. People have unrealistic expectations , however I learnt to do the best possible in every area. I may have not done 100% in areas other than my profession, which I never compromised. I may not have been the best wife, mother, daughter or daughter in law. One has to understand that it is ok to be average in other areas, not in your profession. And give up getting stressed.

Hello Mumbai News: What advice would you give to someone who are aspiring Women Entrepreneur
Dr. Mughdha Raut: Study well. Stay focused. Keep upgrading yourself in all aspects of your profession. Stay fit and healthy ( increase your capacity to receive) and be of service to the people who give you money ( This has direct proportion)

Hello Mumbai News: what Women Inspire you.
Dr. Mughdha Raut: My mother, Dr. Yashaswini Bade, who always had a positive attitude towards her professional aspirations. She successfully completed her PhD when her children were both teenagers. And all my woman friends, they support and inspire me every day.

Hello Mumbai News: What’is your message on International Women’s Day.
Dr. Mughdha Raut: Believe in yourself and your dreams. Stay focused. Don’t allow challenges and obstacles to steal your dreams. You alone are powerful, capable and enough.

Hello Mumbai News: Where our readers can find you and keep in touch with you..
Dr. Mughdha Raut: Dr. Raut’s Centre for Reproductive Immunology, Dr. Raut’s Women’s Hospital, Karlton Appartment, Vakola Village Road, Vakola, Santacruz East, Mumbai – 400055
