Purnima Shirishkar:

Hello Mumbai News: Hi Purnima. Welcome to Hello Mumbai News. Could you please introduce yourself to our readers.

Purnima Shirishkar: Hello. Thanks for catching up with me. Am Purnima Shiriskar, a social entrepreneur and own the stock market academy “Day-to-Day Profit Stock Market’ and a foundation named Zhep Udyogini. We assist women in starting businesses and provide a platform for them to grow.
I’m also working with the MSME for women’s issues. As of now, we have created 1000+ home entrepreneurs on the Zhep Udyogini platform with a network of 7 lakh +SHG in Maharashtra State.
We are well connected with Entrepreneurs from Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh. Am also a member of the World Trade Center in Mumbai and a National consultant. As a successful social entrepreneur, I have been honoured with more than 100 awards to date. My prime aim is to motivate and educate women in business networking for successful entrepreneur with a mission to create 1 lakh home entrepreneurs in Pan India.

Hello Mumbai News: What prompted you to foray into entrepreneurship?

Purnima Shirishkar: Well, after marriage and having children, I couldn’t give it a thought to work. So all the time it was hamnering in mt mind what sort of a job can I take up and earn sufficient money to take care of my family and spend quality time with them.
Stock market training came up to my mind and after five or six years I started floated my own company under the name and style as ‘Day-to-Day Profit Stock Market’ from where I could teach women.

Hello Mumbai News: What is your vision and mission?

Purnima Shirishkar: Amid a smile, that’s a good query. My vision is to absorb 1 lakh women into business, and my mission is to give them adequate knowledge on business.

Hello Mumbai News: Could you throw some light as to how many women have you helped as of now for creating their startup?

Purnima Shirishkar: Well over10 thousand women.

Hello Mumbai News: Madam have you come up with the name for your company?

Purnima Shirishkar: At time around, I had to give an interview to a magazine and amid the course of the interview, I was asked to reveal the name of my company related to my business. While I was thinking about the name, it struck me to ask myself whether, it is pertinent to reveal the name of the company name, so that customers need to know what the company is about and what services is provided. And since I felt that if we are contended with the and rake profit every day, I named it as “Day to Day Profit” and people were comfortable with the name.
And coming to Zhep Udyogini, we had ideas for setting up new business, but at the same time needed a platform. When women enter into business, they need to care for their family apart business.
And in a short span of time, we need to gather larger number of customers and figure out how we can get customers and build a platform. Hence we named the foundation as ‘Zhep Udyogini’.

Hello Mumbai News: How do you build a successful customer base?

Purnima Shirishkar: Yes, we have social media groups, WhatsApp groups, and we conduct monthly programmes to connect with a large number of women.

Hello Mumbai News: On an average how many hours you put in a day for work?

Purnima Shirishkar: Well, as far as my own business is concerned, I put in 5 hours daily, 2 hours for the Company and 5 hours to my family.

Hello Mumbai News: Being an entrepreneur, has it in any way impacted on your family?

Purnima Shirishkar: No way. My family were exceptionally supportive.

Hello Mumbai News: Who motivated you for business?

Purnima Shirishkar: (laughs) well, my husband and children, as well as the people who trained me for the business, such as my teachers, my mother and father.

Hello Mumbai News: Mam, how do you generate new ideas?

Purnima Shirishkar: I am mor into technology and research is very important and my favorite. It helps me to work in a different pattern than others. Therefore, the tagline of my business is “Just do it. Be unique. Be different.”

Hello Mumbai News: Which is your fear factor and how do you manage fear?

Purnima Shirishkar: Well, now I am the least afraid of anything, because everything that happens is for the best. And the more mistakes we commit, the more we learn from the mistakes. So there is nothing to be afraid of, and because we are humans, mistakes are comitted and can never be sidelined. I always tell myself that doing things perfectly is fine, but doing things gradually is preferable.

Hello Mumbai News: Who are your idols?

Purnima Shirishkar: (laughs) there is not one person; there are many, such as motivational trainers, who are important to the business. All people related to this are my idols.

Hello Mumbai News: how do you define success?

Purnima Shirishkar: Getting success makes us happy, but after getting success there is another question: what next? “What next?” is a very motivational word that is always after our success and motivates us to be more successful.

Hello Mumbai News: What is your important aspect of being an entrepreneur?

Purnima Shirishkar: Every woman can be an entrepreneur, and for being a successful businesswoman, training is very important. First and foremost, we should understand our skills. If we are not confident in our abilities, we should seek additional training. If we do that, we can successfully set up our business. We should always think about how we can compete with the other women rather than competing her. How can we help others? If we help 100 entrepreneurs tomorrow, those 100 entrepreneurs will help us.

Hello Mumbai News: Which has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Purnima Shirishkar: well, there are many satisfying movements. To cite, when at a time we aren’t sure on being successful and we do a good thing in our business. Most importantly, my dream since many years has been to work with the government and that is complete now. I’m working with MSME, and according to me, this is the biggest achievement for me.

Hello Mumbai News: What piece of advice would you give to graduates who want to

Purnima Shirishkar: My only piece of advise to them is to start working when they are at home, which means that if any of their family members are into business, they should look at their strategy. If there is none, you can work in the particular sector in which you have to set up your business. You should also be specific about your vision and what you plan to do.

Hello Mumbai News: Which are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur according to you?

Purnima Shirishkar: First of all, reading, risks and innovations.

Hello Mumbai News: Which are the key activities would you recommend entrepreneurs to invest their time into?

Purnima Shirishkar: If she is a young entrepreneur and has her own startup, my only advise to her is to work in the sector in which she is interested. Make your goals clear, and while achieving them, there will be many difficulties which you should know and how to overcome and move forward. Make it clear what you forsee in five years. And for elderly women, they should also note their hobbies and work on them. It is very difficult for a woman to manage business and family at the same time, but you should have that quality in you to be a successful entrepreneur. Mind management is more important than time management.

Hello Mumbai News: Finally, What’s your message on International Women’s Day for Women.

Purnima Shirishkar: Without an iota of doubt, mind management is important, and we should help each other and walk together in the business world. We should respect every entrepreneur. We should be faithful to the other entrepreneurs.

Thereafter formed a group of like-minded people who wish to join you and make your journey in spreading humanity as theirs. Since this work directly needs monetary help, you need to ensure everyone that their hard earned money will be used in the right and best possible way for the betterment and upliftment of the much needed and less fortunate people in the society.

Hello Mumbai News: Tell Something about your Start-up and how people can benefit from it.

Opinder Kaur: Well, Our NGO You Tell Multipurpose Society, was incepted way back in June 2018. People desirous to donate are quite often in dilemma as to which organisation to be chosen where their hard earned money will be utilised in the right and best possible way and be of use for the needy.

inspiration, my motivators, my supporters, my pillars and my Earth Angels.

Hello Mumbai News: Do you feel that in India there are enough structures and facilities put in place to assist women to expand their Startup Journey.

Opinder Kaur: Earlier it was very tough for women to reach out to people and tell them about their work, job , business , social activities etc.
But today, its feasible due to the emergence of social handles like facebook, instagram etc. Still it is my feeling that women entreprenuers need to be featured and recognised by media and others, so that these women win more recognitions and in this way many more people come to know about them and can help them grow further.
Hello Womaniya is taking this much needed effort every year so that women entrepreneurs can be recognised globally and to make their efforts fruitful.
