March 8 is designated as International Women’s Day. Women’s contributions to society, the economy, culture, and politics are honored on this day. Moreover, it highlights the continuous struggle for gender equality. It is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made towards gender equality as well as the work still needed to ensure that women have equal opportunities and rights in all areas of life.

Santacruz Police Station organised a programme on Women Empowerment on International Women’s Day on 08 March 2023,

Notably, 70 respected women from the police force in the rank of women officers of Nirbhaya squad and women of police stations were honored by the chief guest who attended the programme.

All the sincere, hard working devoted and respected Women in the police force were felicitated on this occasion. . College Designated Educational Institutions, NGO Activities in Various Hospitals too were felicitated with citation.

Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner of Police, Circle-09 Mumbai Anil Paraskar as the Chief Guest of the event alongside Rohit Shetty renowned actor-producer-director, actor-turned producer Sachin Pilgaonkar, Supriya Pilgaonkar, and Bharat Shree, were duly honored for the first time in India.

Reportedly 400 to 500 women and girls including officers and their families too made their presence felt in the programme organised by the Santacruz Police Station.
