UK Social Entreprenuer Nabarupa Mukherjee Shares her Candid Views on UK emerging as first country to authorise Covid-19 Vaccine

News Input by Kamal Prabhakar UK Head Hello Mumbai News :

The wait is now over! I am delighted that after all that hard work that the scientists and researchers put in, the vaccine for this deadly COVID-19 is finally approved and the immunization programme has finally started.
It wasn’t an easy ride for us, going through the various challenges that the pandemic forced us to face with. The year 2020 was a great learning journey for all of us, we learnt to appreciate the little things in life which we previously took for granted. The skills of being resilient, always staying positive and being by the side of our friends and families were the key takeaways for me during last year.
The whole world had been eagerly waiting for the vaccine to finally enable human kind to win over the fatal virus and so many countries including UK had been working on the vaccine research. Every single day, there had been huge number of deaths across the world, but people didn’t give up hope and we all were waiting to see that light in the end of the tunnel- the VACCINE to fight corona virus!
It gives us a great relief that UK is the first country in the world to approve the (Pfizer/BioNTech) COVID Vaccine and the first person to receive is a 90-year old lady in Coventry on 8th December 2020. A great positive news to end the pandemic year 2020, that took so many lives. This day will be marked in World history.
The fight is still on with the new variant of corona virus and with the current lockdown in UK, but with the rapid immunisation programme currently being rolled out in the country, I have full confidence that we will pass this difficult time soon and win over the virus. I hope we all stay together in this journey and keep supporting each other by following all the rules and restrictions to keep the infection rates under control and by doing that “We Shall Overcome Some Day” or, shall we say “We WILL overcome this SOON”!
