In a new round of development, today 30 September, IAS Abhijeet Bangar took charge as Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) today 30 September.
Earlier he was the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation replacing Annasaheb Misal as Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
When Bangar took charge as to Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner, the Corona-Covid-19 pandemic was widespread in the city. After taking charge Bangar took immediate decisions to bring the pandemic situation under control. His first success was that he started his own state-of-the-art corona testing laboratory after obtaining permission of the center within 15 days after taking charge as Navi Mumbai Municipal commissioner.
However, sources reveal that Bangar got appointed as the Municipal Commissioner of Thane owing to his heavy workload and administrative relationship with the then Guardian Minister and the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, following Abhijit Bangar’s transfer to TMC, Rajesh Narvekar has taken over as Navi Mumbai Commissioner.
