In a fresh crime of its kind, Jignesh Mehta, Stock Broker courted arrest by MIDC Police from a hotel in Andheri for allegedly molesting an actor on the pretext of helping her land a film role

A case has been registered against stock broker Jignesh Mehta at the Andheri MIDC police station for attempted sexual assault on a struggling actor and model at a hotel in Andheri.

Mehta had asked the victim to come and meet him in Mumbai at a hotel room in Andheri MIDC. Mehta had told the victim that he knew many bollywood producers and would get her work and asked her to join him for dinner in the hotel room on August 5 evening.

According to police officials from MIDC police station, Mehta then tried to sexually assault the victim and started trying to pull her clothes off while his friend was also present. The victim resisted and started screaming for help. Hearing her screams, the hotel staff ran to her rescue and saved her.

Later they caught Mehta and handed him over to MiDC police station in Andheri.

Mehta has been booked under sections 354 (criminal force to outrage modesty of a woman), 354 B (criminal force with the intention of disrobing or compelling her to be naked) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
He was produced in court on Saturday.
