iftaar to Muslims and distributed food packets to all amid lockdown
Mumbai : Mumbai Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) member Bina Paresh Doshi, also a member of Healthcare at Mahanagar Palika, reviews on the incident she faced recently while distributing food to Migrant workers.
Speaking to Hello Mumbai News Team, Bina Doshi said that when she alongwith other team members on 20th May, at 5.30 pm, were in the midst of distributing food to poor and needy people more so to migrant workers and those travelling by bus at Ghodbunder Road ,Mumbai Maharashtra
trying to reach their native place.
She was distributing food in a large scale that comprised items like Roti’s ,Biscuits , Tea, Milk, Chikki, besides food items, she and her team members also distributed notebook , pens, slippers and t shirt to wear etc..
Beena Doshi was present at the place where 19 buses were ready to leave for their destination. She kept checking the need of people and help them by giving and satisfying what they wanted. While she was giving mineral water bottle to each person, she noticed that some person were refusing the items. When asked the persons what was the problem and how could she help with the journey being long and you need food and water. One person replied mam“ Hamara Roza chal raha hai“. She said but after you break your Roza you will need to have something and she insisted him to take coconut water and some food. At least she was concerned that people who are having Roza will not be able to eat something as the journey of travelling was long. Then she told all her volunteers to go and check whether all people have received items. But she was confused when that person was not ready to take any food item but finally after sometime the person said you can give me food in a bag then she gave all food and other items in that bag and felt glad.
She doesn’t show any discrimination towards anyone on the basis of religion or caste. On the contrary she treats every citizen of India equally and does not believe in inequalities and disparities. She sats all people in a party involve equally to help needy people.
Bina Doshi is Jain by religion and she is associated with Bhartiya Janata Party since last 8 years.
The message she wants to convey to people is to have courage and to be patient.Not to be scared in this situation. We are all together we all have to learn to live in this society with this situation. She is a very generous lady. Whenever anyone in need of help call her up and those suffering from any disease or health problem, she calls up the nearby hospital and tells them to help and cooperate with that person. This gesture of Bina Doshi need to be appreciated. She tries to stand by the person suffering from covid-19 and keep a check that ambulance is on time and other facilities too.
At the end she conveys a message to people to not to be gripped in fear of the situation, But, “Be Aware not to panic”.
