CSTM Witnessed Mega Onam Floral Decoration:
Come September 11, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will witness a mega floral decoration as a part of celebrating Kerala’s national festival Onam, that marks yearly visit of mythological king Mahabali.
All Mumbai Malayali Association (AMMA), an organisation working for the welfare of the
Kerala Diaspora residing in the City of Mumbai irrespective of caste, creed and religion through
various social service activities, will be steering the various activities including Floral Decoration or Onam Pookkalam at the
suburban Section of Central railway on 11th September, 2019 from 7 am onwards on the
occasion of Onam.
The much awaited festival cherishes a period no cheating, evil or falsehood or fraud and apart from that all subjects were considered as equal.
The King is revered
for the peace and there was no violence during his regime.
The floral decorations are made to welcome the demon King.
The Onam pokkallam is themed on Resurgence of Brotherhood.
The association came into limelight when it organized a mega floral decoration to offer respect for lives of the victims who were killed in the terrorist attack
of 26th November, 2008 at CSTM Station.
Pookalam involves intricate and highly colourful and creative arrangements of flowers on the
floor to communicate, in visually appealing and aesthetically pleasing message of peace to the
The association was in the forefront in conducting Onam pookkalam since 2015 at CSTM .
